[Our Magic Place] Response

4. Roleplay Prompt - For some reason, you're tied together with someone else. Now what?

There are always perils associated with a trip to Milliways Bar. Always. Be it magical gender switching or transfiguration into animals or even random songs, there are real perils associated with a trip. It usually akes for interesting times. And sometimes, it makes for annoying ones.

Today, Sarah Jane finds herself face to face with one of those latter events. Without Valerie to serve as a figure of neutrality, she and Le Chiffre had spent the past fifteen minutes bickering over who arrived first at a barstool. Sarah was more than certain it was her. The other man was convinced otherwise.

Bar, as they found out a few moments later, isn't fond of such a row. So very not fond that, in effect-

"Oh, this is all your fault!" Sarah Jane yells, glaring down at their tied wrists.

Sarah can bicker about barstools all she wants, but Le Chiffre is clearly in the right, because he's never wrong. That might be why neither seems to be backing down anytime soon.

Except.. there is a halt in the arguing that's just long enough for Le Chiffre to notice random new bindings.. Aaaand then it's all starting again with another subject to bicker about.

"Mine?! You're the one that can never accept when you're wrong."

Honestly, anyone would think these two don't get on.

Honestly. Especially given the way Sarah Jane's eyes narrow at the accusation. Not funny. Oh, it's not funny at all.

"What?" Scowling, there is definitely scowling. "I can too!"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I've yet to witness that," he decides, for clearly Sarah is always wrong and Le Chiffre is always right.

"In fact, I bets it's you who's caused this."

And the restrained wrist is lifted slightly, just in case she already forgot that issue.

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Oi!"

Moving of the wrist without permission is not allowed. Sarah Jane scowls at him again and purposely pulls their joined wrists towards her.

"Oh, as if it would be. It's completely your fault."

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks to that, Chiffre is forced off balance just enough to have him shifting just a tad closer. Considering he's a man who likes his personal space, he'd really rather stay at full arms length.

"My dear Smith, if you want to get closer, you only need to ask. Though you're not really my type."

:D?

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Having Le Chiffre move his whole body closer to her isn't quite what Sarah Jane had planned. It, unsurprisingly, only makes her more disgruntled.

"Bond," she corrects. "And I have a husband who I happen to love dearly."

>.

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
"A husband who might not be so pleased to see who you're tying yourself to," he points out. Because Sarah clearly tied this herself, just somehow while he wasn't paying attention.

He doesn't like the close proximity much either, but he'll just stand there a while longer for he can see it pisses off Sarah.

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Thank god that James doesn't come to Milliways all that often anymore, then.

She sighs and shakes her head, "Oh! This is not my fault!"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's not my fault."

Sarah gets an eye roll in her direction, and is finally given some space. Not much, mind you, considering the current lack of distance that can be gained.

"And how exactly do you plan to get us out of this predicament?"

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
The space isn't nearly enough. Sarah tries tugging away again, momentarily forgetting their previous experience with such an action.

"Why must I figure it out?"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
She may have forgotten, but she's soon reminded as Chiffre's tugged again. At least this time he's got his footing enough to remain roughly where he is.

"Because it's your fault. And you can stop doing that, for a start."

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"My fault?"

Her brown eyes widen with shock. And anger. Oh so most certainly anger.

"My fault?"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"No need to repeat yourself," he snaps back, tugging back on the bindings just to point out he can do that too.

"Just apologise to myself and Bar, and I'm sure it'll go away."

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
And Sarah is once again looking at him with doubt.

"Perhaps you ought to apologise first."

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
That gets a slow eyebrow raise. A vague symbolism of 'wtf?', if you will.

".. Whatever for? I'm not the one in the wrong."

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The look is directed straight back at him.

"And I am?"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-28 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Cue eye roll.

"I thought we'd already established that it was, yes."

Le Chiffre is never wrong. No rly.

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-28 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Cue scowl.

"Oh! We did no such thing!"

Still glaring, Sarah Jane finally sits on the barstool that started this whole mess. She tries crossing her arms over her chest, only to be foiled the second there's something keeping her arm flat on the counter.

"You decided as such!"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Chiffre's not letting his bound hand go anywhere, he's quite happy to use it to lean against the bar with.

And because he's such a gentleman, he'll let her sit there for now. But possibly not for long.

"Uh-huh. And what I say goes. Considering this will all be a lot easier if you just agree with me and do as I say, I'd think that's the best option for you to do."

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Such a gentleman. A rude, arrogant, insufferable git of a gentleman.

"Or, you could agree with me," she counters, raising an eyebrow as she stares at him. "Apologise and perhaps Bar will be happy to let us go."

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering Le Chiffre is neither rude, arrogant, insufferable or a git, clearly there is a mistake.

He is, in fact, well mannered, polite, modest, and loved by all, which would be why his response is oh so caring.

"Fuck off. I'm not apologising for anything."

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-05-01 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
The magical cord around their wrists tighten the second after Le Chiffre utters the words 'fuck off.'

Sarah scowls, wincing at the sudden closeness and tightness.

"Git! See what you've done?"

And the cord becomes tighter yet.

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
And by the second time its tightening, it even has Le Chiffre flinching.

He's about to reply with yet another insult, before something registers that doing so really isn't a good idea. "Alright! Okay. Stop it. That's not helping either of us."

Le Chiffre can actually be an agreeable sort in the right circumstances. Put a gun to his head and he'll agree with anything you say.

[identity profile] his-sarah-jane.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
She doesn't want to agree with Le Chiffre. It goes against her stubborn personality and her joy in verbal sparring. Then, there's who exactly she's bickering with. The only time Sarah Jane Smith-Bond ever likes to agree with the villain is when Valerie is revolved.

Then, in those moments, she can forgive him of absolutely anything.

Sarah lets out a low sigh, glancing at their bound wrists. "What do we do, then?"

[identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com 2008-05-03 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"How very refreshing. You're letting a man make all the decisions for once," he comments with a small level of smug creeping back.

The trouble with this whole situation is.. Chiffre doesn't want to start agreeing and behaving himself, but he also wants to get free, too.
