The mermaid leaned in to give him a kiss. It tasted fishy.
She shot Sarah a look, before jumping back into the water and swimming off. On the horizon he could see what looked like three or four more mermaids.
He waited until they were all out of sight to wipe his mouth.
He made a face, as he wiped his tongue, trying to get the taste out of his mouth.
"You were so helpful today," he said, trying to decide which part of the rocks would be the best to jump off of and the closest to land.
"That whole front page business, you were joking, weren't you?" he asks, looking at her with concern.
