[Milliways] OOM: Dovershire Chapel, London, 2006

Sarah Jane had brought the guests from Milliways through to their flat in London, leaving them to James to take care of before she hurried off to the church, Barbara in tow. She had wanted to check on all the last minute arrangements: to make sure the flowers had arrived and that the minister was there.

Everything seems perfect now. The church, a small little Gothic-esque chapel close to the Notting Hill gate tube stop, is now decorated with garlands of wildflowers along the aisles. It's the one touch Sarah Jane wanted to add to an otherwise picture-perfect room. The sun shines through the stained glass windows, causing the pews to glow. The altar was simple enough, with an organ off to one side and a lovely rosette window behind it. Two bouquets sit to either side of where the couple will stand.

Overall: the impression is of a simple yet sophisticated chapel. Everything is set for the wedding, presuming, of course, nothing goes wrong.

He smiles, though the idea of them being parents for real...it's outside his thought processes, and likely to stay so. Though there is Allie. "Such as learning to keep it down at night so that nine year olds can get their sleep." He spots a good pair of seats close to the front of the chapel.

"Something like that."

She laughs. She's been a new mother, even if it was centuries ago, and isn't likely to want to repeat the process, soon.

"But from scratch, so to speak. It's good that she has help. With my twins, I was on my own for the first couple of months. That was an adventure, let me tell you."

Alex pulls her in a bit for a gentle hug. He's sure that even when it's a happy memory, it's still hard for her to think about.

"Sarah seems to like adventures. But after even time travel and meeting 007...yeah, it's gonna be something for her to adjust to."

"007 is is spy code name, right? She's time traveled--well, yes, I suppose she has, if she's from the seventies, like you said."

"Well, I guess that makes me a time traveller, too, since here were are in 2006." He smiles, and acts like it's cool that he's doing this and not the least bit intimidating. "But she does it regularly. I think.

"And 007 is his spy code. You've never seen any James Bond films?" They take their seats.

"Oh, probably. The movies is one of the few places I don't have to rush away from after a few minutes, because it's dark, and no one notices my hair. He doesn't look like any of the actors I've seen in the movies, so he must be the real thing, eh?

"That, and he's from after the movies take place, by a while. Which means he's definitely not the guys in the movies, since the Cold War is over." He wonders what keeps spies busy in the future, but as usual is in no rush to find out.

"We'll have to watch the movies together, some time--I'm sure my memory will be jogged if I see them again."

"That would be loads of fun, my lady." They sit down and Alex looks to the back of the chapel to see people scrambling about. "Almost time, I think."

She nods, and takes his hand, pulling a tissue out of her purse with the other. She always cries a little at weddings.
