[Milliways] OOM: James' Flat, London, 2006

Every day it felt as if that flat they shared in London was becoming less and less James' flat and more and more their's. It was mostly the little things: the invasion of her clothing, new books added to the shelves, more colours added to the decorum, and photographs she had decided were much more fitting than the sparse decorations previously up. It was beginning to feel like a home to Sarah Jane, much like their flat in Milliways.

But maybe more than anything that made her feel as if she actually lived there was the arrival of a letter with her name on it in the post that day. She had stopped to check on her way back from the gym, and absolutely beamed when she opened up the letter - from an up and coming women's magazine - and read the words that told her that she was now a published writer in James' world as well as her own.

It was a small piece she had written, based on something she had once done for the Metropolitan, on the ever changing societal role of women in London -- now updated for the 21st century. And inside was a check for the rights of the piece, and an offer to continue writing on a more permanent basis.

Smiling to herself, Sarah head upstairs. It wasn't the London Times, but it was a start. A start that, in her opinion, deserved a relaxing bubble bath until James came home.

Bond survived a tolerable day at work, a day focused more on training than facts. He felt an energy that could only be satisfied by a night outside the home—or a night in the flat doing more than just talking and cooking. Most nights found him brain-dead and bored, which he rectified by more nights out (suffice it to say, Bond’s flat was frequently unoccupied before Sarah Jane moved in); very few found him too tired to do more than sleep. He looks eagerly for Sarah as he walks through the door, smiling slyly to himself when he hears water running in another room. Bond being Bond, the temptation to sneak up on the bathing beauty, just because he can, is too high to resist.

Sliding his feet out of his shoes, James makes his quiet advance towards the bathroom.

The door had been left opened a crack so that she could hear when James returned, but with the water running, Sarah remained rather deaf to the rest of the world.

She slips quietly out of her clothing, folding everything into a small pile placed in the hamper. Before turning off the water, Sarah dims the lights to the room. That all done, she finally slips beneath the surface and bubbles, sighing at the feel of the cool water against her skin.

Once beside the bathroom door, James peers in at an angle that benefits his sight, not hers—she cannot see him as he examines the scene, grin widening in anticipation. He sneaks away to the bedroom to retrieve an item he’s certain they’ll both need if his ambush is a success, and if she is not opposed to the presence of another person in her bubble bath. Sarah Jane was not one to let sex pass by when it offered itself freely, so he doubts he will be evicted.

Returning to the bathroom, James peers in through the crack, waiting for the right moment to sneak in.

She slips further in to the bath and closes her eyes as she leans her head against the edge, hair forming a comfortable enough cushion. Sarah murmurs contently again, briefly wondering just how long she'll have to enjoy herself before James returns.

That's the trouble with living with a spy; they often have the upper hand in keeping you unaware of their surprises.

Such is the case tonight. James waits a few moments, waiting for her to open her eyes again. When she doesn’t, he slips into the bathroom, quickly padding his way to the bathtub, where he kneels and leans forward to place a kiss on her neck.

It's not hard to guess who's home now. After all, not too many people would be kissing her right about now. Or kissing her like that.

Sarah Jane still doesn't bother opening her eyes, although a little bit of the water spills over the edge as she moves underneath the surface and sighs again.

"I have brilliant news to tell you, James," she murmurs, tilting her head to give his lips better access to her neck.

“Mmmhmm,” he murmurs against her skin, moving a hand to place on her shoulder. He may be busy kissing her neck, but he is listening!

"I...ah, I heard back from that magazine," Sarah begins, the words coming out slowly. A little more water spills on to the floor as she shifts around in the tub again. "And... oh...oh, they not only want to buy my article, but they'd ...mmm, love it if I write more."

He pulls his lips away, kissing her chin then her lips quickly before looking at her directly. “Really?”

She nods, smiling brightly despite the clouded dissappointment in her eyes of the lack of lips on her skin. "Yes really! It's a start, James. Maybe I have a future as a journalist in your world after all."

He grins at her. It’s part pride, part smug satisfaction. “See. I told you so.”

Sarah sits up, suds clinging to parts of her body as she rolls her eyes at him. "Oh, shush. It was only a matter of time until I had gotten the idea myself."

He pulls his hand away, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt. “But you didn’t get it before I suggested it.”

"So?"

“So…” He finishes rolling his sleeves and sticks an arm out across the bathtub, hand resting on the side against the wall. He leans forward, his other arm folded across the outer edge of the tub, his face inches away from Sarah Jane’s. “That means I win.”

Sarah's breath hitches and she nods slightly, staring into his beautiful blue eyes. Softly, "And what is it that you win?"

The hand on the outer ledge of the bathtub slinks up her neck to her chin, holding her head in place as James presses his lips against hers, massaging them tenderly with just a hint of tongue. He pulls away slowly.

His subsequent grin is too goofy to match the kiss. “Twenty percent of all your profits. I discovered you; I ought to make a profit out of my discovery.”

That is much too unfair. Sarah lets her eyes close for a moment, letting the kiss linger on her lips and her heart slow down before she opens then again. And shakes her head ever so much.

"As profits will be mixed in with yours to support us here, I think that a different prize is in order for both of us. And you can start by kissing me again, before we move on to a night on the town, including ring purchasing and dinner at a posh restaurant, James."

But she doesn't wait for him to reply before wrapping arms laced with opalescent white bubbles around his neck and crushing her lips to his.

He was about to say she read his mind, but it’s hard to speak when she’s kissing him like that. He leans in to the kiss, the arm against the wall diving under the water to grope the body beneath it.

Some part of her mind reminds Sarah that this scenario is highly unfair, what with James still dressed and all.

But oh the things he can do with his little pinky finger and those lips of his and it certainly prevents Sarah Jane from protesting. Still, one hand does go to the tie around his neck, tugging at the knot to undo it as she kisses him.

It’s an unfair advantage he hopes Sarah Jane will rectify soon. The body beneath the clothes itches for release, yearns to be inside the bathtub and inside Sarah Jane. The question is how long will she take to free that body? James is reluctant to move his hands away from her to help.

Her fingers start moving faster and faster as more water tips over the edge. As much as his body might yearn to be inside her, hers yearns for much the same thing, if not more. Anything to relieve the familiar ache building up in the pit of her stomach.

Finally, not fast enough his shirt is unbuttoned and all she has left are his trousers. Roughly, her lips break their lock on his and move downward, sucking and biting at chest skin while her hands free him of the last constraints.

His trousers are thoroughly soaked by now, giving James another reason to rejoice being free of them. Not that it really matters. In a few seconds his whole body will be wet. He places a hand behind her head as he steps out of the trousers and boxers she’s freed him from.

Impulsively, she licks at the length of him. Normally it would be an invitation to something else, but right now Sarah Jane wants him inside of her more than she wants any more foreplay.

So she pulls her head away, smiling. "The water feels absolutely lovely, you know."
