No, this is not a Tammy awards pimp post because I do not believe in all that crazy self pimping stuff. This is a VERY LONG LEAVE OF ABSENCE POST.
For the next six weeks, starting tomorrow, I am going to be travelling around Europe. And then when I get back, I'm home for about all of two days before I head out to South Carolina to visit friends for a week. So, pretty much? For the next seven weeks I have absolutely no idea when I'll be online. I will be online at occassion, what with me not being a nightclub type person and there being internet at all the hostels I'm staying at and internet cafes being rather prominent in Europe. But the hours are going to be completely different than normal.
So? Any threads that are currently slowtimed? I am more than willing to continue them.
Any threads that will be started while in Europe? Unless it's plot related, most likely will be left to fade when I'm off the computer that day/night.
Prompt communities have been notified and while I will try to write things when on trains, I can sort of see myself easily forgetting about all of this while on my travels. So they will probably be few and far between until the next seven weeks past.
I sort of hate to leave Sarah Jane hanging like this, especially as she's new to many of the prompt communities and games I have her in, but as always, real life outweighs the internet one. Especially when it's backpacking around Europe with your own best friend.
What I ask of all of you is to use this post please to just comment with anything you think I would either enjoy reading or should read for SJ's sake when I get back. It would be forever appreciated.
Well, take care you lot! If I see the Doctor while travelling, I'll tell him ya'll say hi. :P

Date: 2007-05-26 05:51 pm (UTC)Have a blast! *snug* Whereabouts are you going in Europe?
And I so first read 'six months' not 'six weeks'. Oops.Heh. And scope out the celebs in the UK, too. :D

Date: 2007-05-26 05:56 pm (UTC)Thanks! I'm sure I will! As for where I'm going, it's Amsterdam followed by London followed by Cardiff, then Liverpool, then York, then Glasgow, then Paris, then Rome, then Pompeii, then Venice, then Munich, then Amsterdam (family, hence the double trip there) and then home. With stops to lots of other places in between.
And totally! Especially in Cardiff. XD

Date: 2007-05-26 06:04 pm (UTC)I normally don't approve of popularlity contests, and didn't like the awards at first, but now I'm taking that creative part to heart. Have fun with it and be crazy. When else can your muse do that about themselves? It's totally meta. *L* And that even ties with the comics, too! There were quite a few issues of Marvel Illustrated (which looked like a swim suit issue of Sports Illustrated) and Marvel: Year in Review. Both were done in magazine size and stock. Just showing characters doing things one wouldn't normally expect them to do, and often poking fun at themselves.
Wow. Whirlwind of Europe. It's going to be gorgeous! Pompeii? Ugh! Envious! And Cardiff, too. London. That's fantastic. Are you going with friends?

Date: 2007-05-26 06:09 pm (UTC)Total whirlwind of Europe! I am so excited about Pompeii because we're staying in a hostel right near the ruins and it just makes the geek in me go :D:D:D. I'm actually going with one friend, who's more of a brother to me than anything. Which should make it even better.

Date: 2007-05-26 06:18 pm (UTC)Yeah. *nod* But I think the organizer(s) of this event are trying to have it be more about silly than anything else. There were problems at the last one, from what I vaguely remember reading.
Wow!! That's cool! Very much so. Pompeii is so history alive. It looked that way hundreds of years ago and it looks that way now. There are so few things like that. That's fun! My friend had just her friend on their trip of England, last year. Had such a blast. They went to work a bit on Hadrian's Wall.

Date: 2007-05-26 06:29 pm (UTC)I've never been to Pompeii before and I think that's probably where I'm most excited about going. And oo, working on Hardrian's Wall? That's so cool! We're probably going to go see that because we're both classic dorks to a degree.

Date: 2007-05-26 06:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, no fun in having the same people. Everybody should be recognized. I try to do that, recognize the people who deserve recognition. They may happen to be popular, but if they're good at what they do? I'm a big fan of effort and passion.
I know I would be. Seeing the ruins. Wow! It's so unearthly. They really enjoyed it. Took part in digging out a trench. My friend wanted to continue working and not come back home. *L* You should! She had such a ball.

Date: 2007-05-26 06:42 pm (UTC)Seeing the ruins is going to be amazing. Living next door to it for four days even more so. I totally don't blame your friend for wanting to do that. Some day I will participate in an excavation, I swear.

Date: 2007-05-26 06:47 pm (UTC)I feel so out of history where I live (Southern California). It's just sububia. My dad's from MA where history is at least 300 years old and you're more likely to see it. Neither do I! I was more envious. *L* You gotta. Me too, for that matter. The sixth grade excavation I did hardly counts! *L* I did dress for the occasion, though. Wore a safari hat, khaki shorts, and a blouse of some kind. Totally took the whole archaeologist thing to heart. *L*

I am going to Amsterdam for a week, London for a week, then bouncing around to Cardiff, Liverpool, York, Glasgow, Paris, Geneva, Rome, Pompeii, Venice, Munich, and back to Amsterdam with stops in between.
