4. Roleplay Prompt - For some reason, you're tied together with someone else. Now what?

There are always perils associated with a trip to Milliways Bar. Always. Be it magical gender switching or transfiguration into animals or even random songs, there are real perils associated with a trip. It usually akes for interesting times. And sometimes, it makes for annoying ones.

Today, Sarah Jane finds herself face to face with one of those latter events. Without Valerie to serve as a figure of neutrality, she and Le Chiffre had spent the past fifteen minutes bickering over who arrived first at a barstool. Sarah was more than certain it was her. The other man was convinced otherwise.

Bar, as they found out a few moments later, isn't fond of such a row. So very not fond that, in effect-

"Oh, this is all your fault!" Sarah Jane yells, glaring down at their tied wrists.

Sarah really does wish she could move away from him right now. Instead, she has to settle for taking a deep breath.

"You must be mistaken."

"Oh, not at all. You're not a woman who can easily be forgotten. Especially when always in my dreams. I suppose I just can't get enough of you."

It's not exactly charming when said in the mocking tone he's using.

"I don't believe my husband would like hearing this very much," Sarah points out as calmly and rationally as possible. She smiles, a pretty smile that would seem nice in other company. But given that it's Le Chiffre, it's probably best mistaken as mocking.

"Other men dreaming of me. He's quite the possessive sort, you know."

While the mocking can be returned with perfect ease, receiving it is still not appreciated.

"Of course, and as I've pointed out, I doubt he'll be pleased to see you binding yourself to another man."

And a sudden thought has him pausing before adding quickly, "What if we're stuck like this?"

"Permanently?"

Oh good heavens, she hopes not. The very thought sounds absolutely repulsive. Sarah Jane would very much be willing to lose a hand first.

"There are, you know, always alternatives."

The permanent thought isn't one he likes to linger on, so instead, he takes a few quite moments to think on the alternatives.

".. Yes, I suppose there are. But I'm not sure Bond would appreciate me killing you, even for a cause like this."

Possibly they're thinking of different alternatives.

"Because chopping off your hand really involves my death," Sarah Jane retorts dryly. "I don't think James would have any problem with that at all."

"My hand?" This is not an idea Le Chiffre likes! Murdering was more entertaining.

"My dear, I'm already handicapped through sight, so I think you should be the one to lose a hand."

He needs his hands to play poker. Even scary machete wielding men can agree with that.

Oh no he doesn't.

"It can be stitched back on. And given your Frankenstein like manner, I don't see what the problem would be."

Le Chiffre manages a length pause to arch an eyebrow at Sarah in a massively unamused look.

"Frankenstein?"

Oh please, he's much more like Dracula.

"How about we both cut off our hands? You go first, and I'll do so after you have."

He only wishes he was like Dracula. It's clearly Frankenstein: it's the large forehead that makes all the difference.

Sarah would say as much if he protested.

But seeing as he doesn't, she eyes their bind wrists. Then she looks back up at him and shakes her head. "Oh no. You go first, please."

Though he does sleep in a coffin and only come out at night!

"Absolutely not, that'd be rude of me. Ladies first."

Ever the gentleman.

"Suit yourself then," Sarah says, gesturing grandly to the bar with her free hand. "After you."

"That's.. that's very funny. Well done," Le Chiffre replies, though do excuse him if he doesn't sound at all amused. Apparently this hand cutting off suggestion just isn't going to work.

"Are there any precise rules we need to follow to sort this out? Perhaps there are loopholes." He loves to use loopholes and squirm out of badly written up contracts!

"How would I know?" Sarah sighs, resting her head on her hand. "It's not as if this sort of thing happens very often."

"I wasn't sure if this was a common thing for you," he comments. "I wouldn't be surprised."

She raises an eyebrow, not bothering much to move her head. "Oh?"

"Mmyes. You, tying yourself to strange men," he says to make his point clearer. A point he has already said several times. Apparently these sort of jokes don't get old for Chiffre.

Sarah Jane laughs, grinning despite herself.

"Yes. Clearly I do. But you don't seem much better when it comes to tying up strange women."

And somehow, that comment in return actually has Le Chiffre giving a short, dark chuckle. It's either the reminding of torture, or just the general thought of his love for restraining that has him smirking, but who cares so long as he's not being grumpy?

"It's a habit I really should break."

"If you ever want to keep that boyfriend of yours," she responds, still smiling, "I would say so."

The bonds loosen slightly.

"With women, certainly. But with him.. I don't know.. he's quite into that sort of thing."

Too much information?! Chiffre doesn't care. :D

Her eyes open wide as her eyebrows raise. Sarah would gasp, if her hand wasn't otherwise occupied.

"Really?"

From: [identity profile] weeper-of-blood.livejournal.com
"Oh yes," he states with a nod, and with just enough solemness to it that might mean he's not actually joking. Sometimes it's hard to tell with him.

"You wouldn't even believe some of the things we get up to."

Actually, she might believe it when Le Chiffre's involved, but she probably won't want to hear about it.
