[Milliways] OOM: Flat 007

It's nearly midnight according to the clock in their room. It's nearly midnight and that means that, at least in Milliways, it is nearly James' birthday. And after the week they've had, there's nothing in the universe that can stop Sarah Jane from celebrating this day.

She had kicked him out of the room a couple of hours ago, claiming that packing can be finished in the morning and that she needed time to rest. Truth is though, she's been busy decorating their room with brightly coloured streamers Bar provided, blue and silver and yellow. There are a few balloons scattered around, and a small cake on the desk next to a wrapped package and a card.

Sarah takes a moment to check her appearance in the mirror, smiling at her choice of dress (short, flattering, and blue) and her done up hair and make up. Nothing can hide the fading marks or gauze on her face, but that's okay.

Tonight's not about remembering the past, but celebrating the future.

"You'd be thirty nine and I'm not putting that many candles on a cake," she answers stubbornly as she mimicks his movement. "So rounding it to forty, that's one for each decade and one for good luck. Make a wish, James."

"Forty?" He looks aghast. AGHAST! He's not that old!

James shoots her a sour look. It's all in jest, of course, and with mock reluctance he steps forward to the cake with an excess of candles on it.

"It's only a couple more years," she kids, giggling. "And don't forget that wish!"

"Fine."

James leans over the cake, contemplating the candles. Then, first inhaling as deeply as he can, he breathes out and extinguishes the candle.

Perhaps Sarah Jane caught glimpse of a curious little grin before he blew out the candles.

She claps when the candles go out before making herself busy with pouring the champagne into the flutes. Sarah Jane beams at him, having noticed that grin, and tilts her head curiously.

"Am I allowed to know what you wished for?"

"No."

She had expected that answer. Still, Sarah Jane pouts for a moment, and then hands him one of the glasses.

"To?" Sarah asks, holding hers up in a toast.

This isn't a wish he wants to jinx. He's playing it safe.

He grabs his own flute and holds it up to hers. "To us."

"To us," Sarah Jane agrees, and clinks the glass gently against his before taking a small sip. "Happy birthday, James."

"Thank you."

He mimics her actions. And yes, he certainly does approve of the champagne.

Sarah places her glass back down the table, finding the knife she had placed near the cake. She begins to cut the slices, looking up at him as she does. "I really hope you don't mind the surprise."

"I don't."

"I'm glad," she answers warmly and places the knife back down. She wraps her around his neck, standing on her toes to kiss him properly. After the kiss, Sarah rests her head against his. "There's one more, you know."

"I had my suspicions," he replies, placing a hand on her back and letting it slide down elsewhere.

"Mmm," she murmurs, wrapping her other arm around his neck too. "You'll have to unwrap this one, too."

Slowly, his hand begins to search for a zipper.

"Can I unwrap it now?"

"It's on the side," is the reply quite signifying a yes. One hand moves to his, guiding it to the zipper below her left arm. "Cake can certainly wait."

James wastes no time pulling the zipper down, meanwhile capturing her lips in a quick, rough kiss. "Could always get another one," he says.

"Greedy," she whispers into his ear, dress hanging lose and open around her and causing her to shiver at the slight breeze from the opened window. Or maybe that's his hands on her waist.

Either way, cake can certainly wait.

Is she cold?

Well, if she is, James shows no consideration for it as he guides the straps of the dress off her shoulders and arms--and subsequently the entire dress off her body.

After the dress falls in a pool around her legs, Sarah Jane takes a step back so he can better appreciate what she's wearing underneath.

It's red and tight fitting and leaves little to the imagination. There are laces in the rather narrow triangle of fabric reaching from bra to panties, and little less but strings holding it up in the back.

There's a rosy blush on her cheeks as she looks away from him, clearly not the sort of woman to normally where such a silk and lace teddy. But it's his birthday in a way, not to mention the fact that she wants to see some sort of reminder in his eyes that she's still beautiful, despite the rope burns and bruises and cut.

James grins appreciatively at her. It's perfect. It's exactly the kind of lingerie that screams "take me off now" in the good way. He barely even notices her bruises, burns and cuts.

Perhaps that's so because a few seconds after appreciating his new gift, James is on her again, kissing her fiercely.

The kiss is enough to push all embaressments and worries aside and suddenly she's pleased with her choice. Pleased that she can make him, James Bond, react like this.

It's still a thrill, even as they fall back into the familiar rythm of tongues teasing and lips attacking and hands groping.

His love for her might have worked in her favor. Might have; he doesn't just like Sarah for her personality.

Meanwhile--as lovely as that lingerie was, really, it has got to go. And he starts making good on removing it.

"James," she purrs, sighing against him. "Mmm--" kiss "--you have much---" kiss "--too much clothing--" kiss "--on."

As much as she loves him undressing her like this, in her opinion its himself he needs to be working on undressing right now, not her. But Sarah Jane is in no state to protest, eyes closes as she enjoys the sensations of his kiss and his hands instead.
